Why the name Massingham's?

"Massingham's" was born from the large knowledge that our founder Tristram has built up over the last 15 years in the auction industry, and has a keen passion for delivering prompt results and customer satisfaction.

The name Massingham was passed down as the surname from family ancestor who was a harbourmaster in Lowestoft in the last quarter of the 19th C, who was noted in many books and publications for bravery in 1882 when he oversaw the rescue of many men from a sinking vessel "The Berthon" several miles out to sea in heavy seas.

The lifeboat that Captain Massingham and his men carried out many missions of bravery was called the Samuel Plimsoll.
